Psychosocial counselling before, during and after antenatal examinations (Antenatal diagnostics)

All parents- want their child to be born healthy.

Many hope to gain this security from antenatal diagnostic examinations.

However, the results are sometimes not clear.

This can then involve further examinations.

If there are any unusual examination results, the result often says little about the real handicap of the child after birth.

Some children’s illnesses or handicaps can be identified before birth, but cannot be treated before birth.

Parents might also still worry about   health and development of their child during the whole pregnancy or at the time of the birth.

In such situations, it can be helpful to take advantage of psychosocial counselling in addition to medical support.
